I highly recommend you head over to DesignThinkingDigest.com and review the content and Chris Bernard's article and slides on "Brainstorming, Interaction Design, and user observation". This is a great article and there is also a slideshow.. No matter what you have to do with design, it's a good read and will make you think about the proccesses you use.
