Keeping up with Media Encoding Developments for Silverlight

I have been very lax lately about keeping up with happening related to encoding video for Silverlight. With Silverlight 2.0 beta 2, there were some new additions like adaptive streaming. But I think the more exciting thing to be looking at is the industry happenings and third party products around it.

 

So here's my laundry list of things you should know about..

 

Streaming via a web server versus using a true media streaming server

Over at Chris Knowlton's Blog there is an article that compares what you can do with each of these and the differences that exist. This is a really great article for someone who is just starting with streaming and needs to know what is the most effective answer for their streaming needs..
